I was thinking of his Mario Kart is just a solid franchise, because cartoon battle racing is just a fun concept. It doesn’t take itself serious at all.
Then my brain jumped to Car Wars. And hey, are there card games for this? Because I could see a card game, with items and events, that could be a lot of fun! Maybe have character cards with powers, but each “track” is actually a deck with a particular pool of cards.
