High School Where College is Not the Goal

At Randolph Technical High School in Philadelphia, students are learning
about carpentry, culinary arts, and auto repair. Has the system given
up on them, or has it saved them?

Leaving high school already knowing a trade seems like a huge step up for students, whether or not the continue to college.

I would love for my kids to learn a trade in high school that they can always use / fall back on, and if they want to learn in more detail or do an entirely different field then college is there.

It’s a really complex thing, and I have a hard time obtaining any sort of certainty that we have a ‘good’ plan for the kids in that way.
