today i learned!
edited to add: the face-with-tears-of-joy emoji came over in the copy-and-paste. not as :joy: but as the emoji itself. i’m kind of amazed. discourse displays the emoji correctly, and when i mouse over it, it displays the tooltip :joy: just the same as when :joy: is typed in to the edit box. when i re-open the edit box, the copy-and-pasted text is still the actual emoji, not :joy:. that’s fascinating to me.
