We talk about “great men”, but like, we all know more than Thomas Aquinas. Like, seriously, even a poor public education system made us smarter than folks in the past, so stop letting them control us. :face_with_monocle:

I sometimes fall into what I call “Japanese Geocities”, and it is fascinating. I say that merely from a design standpoint, as I can’t make sense of a lot of it, blog cant in a different language is super difficult to decipher.

I tried to us Firefox’s screenshot function, and it straightup said it wouldn’t, that’s how weird that page is! :exploding_head:

Moral courage is a curse; discuss.

Haha, here’s one I’m almost too shy to share, but it’s just gripped my intellectual curiosity…

Is there an upper limit to the cup size differential for breast implants, and is it based on the amount of skin available?!

I was buttoning a shirt in the mirror, and noticed my hands, and realized I didn’t actually look at them, because I’ve been doing this so long, and then I thought about what would have to change for me to no longer just know where to button without thinking, and of course if I had large boobs that might change not only the button layouts, but also the shapes of the shirts I could wear, and it got me to thinking, wait, what’s my upper limit on cup size? Like, youch, does that mean my skin gets stretched out over it? I understand there is a replacement of tissues involved, but as I don’t have a lot of tissue there, it suddenly got me thinking about the logistics of breast implants/augmentation, and I had never really considered the skin part.

I would go search for an answer, but Zarathustra-on-a-pogo-stick, who wants to search for “breast implants skin stretch upper limit?”

:upside_down_face:

Breast implants are a common cybernetic augmentation.

Someone should “Grover Norquist” Congress, making them swear to never support a piece of legislation if it disenfranchises anyone. Solarpunk af.

This line of reasoning is what makes me want to become more involved in legislation. Government Standards are am amazingly effective tool to influence society. I wouldn’t mind getting into that fight for a bit.

The Electoral College system is like a gun massacre: we don’t talk about it because “it’s too soon”, and then another event happens and we never talked about it.

Was gonna try mbsync, but I only use software I can recommend to others, and I don’t recommend software that uses “slave” as a configuration option.

Each time I read the plugin name and it’s motto, “Matomo Analytics - Ethical Stats”, I see “Ethical Sluts”, and think, “whoa, that can be measured?!”

Its kinda weird that chemical photos are an improvement over memory, while digital photos are not always seen as an improvement over chemical photos.

Or is there a different story about photos and memory? Did we recall events differently before we could externally document it visually?

“Loyalty” appears to be superstitious to me. Rather than a drive or intention, it is descriptive of a scenario in hindsight, and yet folks demand it of each other in certain contexts.

I’m old enough to know I can’t reduce a person’s life to a simple story or sentiment.

I’m not saying it makes anything easier. I’m just admitting I know. The temptation is always there.
