Wave invite, sans a friend

I received an e-mail from Google today, which, among other things, contained these words:

has invited you to preview Google Wave!

Google Wave is a new online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using text, photos, videos, maps, and more. Learn more at wave.google.com.

This is still an early preview of Google Wave, so you may run into some bumps along the way but we look forward to your feedback.

The subject was “has invited you to preview Google Wave”. Verbatim.

So, in the spirit of beta software, I give Google this feedback: Your invite system, it doesn’t work.

I didn’t want an invite, but I did want to see what it was all about. So far I am not impressed, but then again I have only begun to see what kind of apps or whatnot works with it. It annoys me that I know the other people with accounts, as it is taken from my contact list, or rather, people I have e-mailed before. Or something, I am not even sure, I only have a Gmail account to use Google Analytics.

I have some invites, so here is the deal. If you want one, you have to contact me through XMPP, with a non-Gmail account. My Jabber account is maiki@im.interi.org.
