GamiPress puts a banner on your dashboard asking for a 5-star rating

I was trying out GamiPress, a points plugin for WordPress.

Today I logged in and saw this on the dashboard:

I did not opt-in to any communication with the developer when I downloaded this plugin. I also have no idea what those buttons do, since this is not a standard experience for plugins.

Recall, this is permitted behavior:

Currently that is permitted. As long as it’s 100% dismissable and doesn’t track usage, it’s allowed.

It’s unreasonable to expect developers to built things for free
forever, so from that end some self promotion and advertisement
(provided it is in fact dismisaable) is allowed.

Oh, yeah, I deleted the points plugin. I’d rather code it myself, because I won’t distract myself asking to participate in a popularity contest.
