The big idea is: don’t cut things that roll. In most cases, cut off the “ends”, so you have a flat surface for the fruit to sit on, and another on top to start cutting.
I’m definitely going to apply that to watermelons. Another great thing I learned was the “house cut” for watermelon slices, where you cut the ends of the rind from a slice, creating a tiny house shape medallion of watermelon, which is easier to eat without the edges wrapping around your face.
