The Second Death of Tony Hart

One more link from the CJR issue - a story a friend wrote about automated digital necrophilia, or when algorithms cause someone to die in public all over again.

This is related to stuff I am dealing with, as a hosting and services provider for someone that passed recently. Oh brave new world, indeed.

The interesting point in this story is that Hart died in 2009, which happens to be in the ancient past in internet time. I wonder if this will become less of an issue as we get further away from the time before social media rose to prominence as a distribution channel.

I know for myself, I could use a guide for handling this kind of stuff. And if I can’t find one, I will probably write one.
