I set up some forums, the address is https://www.interi.org/bbs.
Over the last decade I have run about a dozen boards. Some of them gain traction for a little while, but whatever subject I based them on eventually dies down. I think it is because I always base them on video games. EGBT was a great experience, and for years I have wanted to recreate that, but I am convinced that won’t happen.
Instead I am going to take a different approach; an intentional, rather than an incidental, community. The BBS requires that new members be accepted. Currently that is done by me. My qualification is dubious, since I both control the site and like inviting people in and accepting them, but we’ll see how it goes.
It’s funny, I shied away from using Vanilla Forums for years because of the default application method for joining (which has since been adjusted as a setting in version 2).
I will still talk about video games, and anime, comic books, movies and computer miscellanea. But I will try to attract people I know and have met to the boards. I want to use it as a tool to coordinate my activities without relying on this weblog.
So if you know me, or want to get to know me better, check out the BBS, and create an account.
