I sometimes want to raise funds, but don’t want to use a crowdsource website.
- I haven’t found one that doesn’t compromise the site visitor with surveillance, and
- I don’t want to enter into a relationship with a company to get money from my friends
They have a lot of overhead, so they act funky, these crowdsource companies. Whereas all I literally want is a quick way to explain what I’m using money for and a way to send it and track it as a campaign; that means tracking payments and calculating it.
I can’t easily justify running such a site so I occasionally ask to fund a new thing… but I could run such a thing if I constantly used it to fund my work and it was used by others and others also covered hard costs which should be very low…
So I’ll do that!
