I have seven categories on this blog, but I am about to switch them up, and get rid of all of them.
Design was supposed to be this great collection of my own design, and that of others I find inspiring. It didn’t really pan out, and half the time I don’t know what the difference between design and development is.
The stuff that would go into development, I am either going to talk about it in non-technical details, such as why I chose to do something, and put the actual details where they belong (client documentation, project changelogs, etc.).
Gaming turned from talking about the video games I play to solely about the RPG I am developing. The RPG needs its own site. I don’t play many video games that are not for Android, and those aren’t very interesting.
Media was my attempt to get those cool conversations going about what I am watching or reading. I’ve never had anything like the massive archive of LiveJournal fandom discussions. My plan is to create a special blog that handles referencing to characters and shows in a special way, and bribing my friends to talk to me there.
Reflect is my default category, and it will probably become journal. Relate is about people, and most of them are also filed under reflect, so that won’t be missed.
Finally, there is writing. I’ve decided to go through mah blahg and find all the fiction, and put it in a git repo. I have a lot more writing that has never made it on the site, but I can load up a repo. Part of my vulnerable + backup scheme. I also invite anyone to edit/contribue/collaborate, as well!
So those are the changes coming. I doubt anyone will notice, but I definitely will.
