I’ve thought I would do this if I ever got mirroring working: remove the status formatted posts from the main feed of the site. Then I will mirror both in StatusNet, but I can post a bunch of status updates and it won’t flood the main feed.
Okay, so WordPress multisite mirroring to StatusNet is working. Now I have to figure out how I got replies to post back as comments…
I think PuSHPress is working correctly, which means this should be push from my WordPress site to StatusNet.
I think NewsBlur is interesting, and the Android app is getting better. But it doesn’t really jive with what I want from it. I think I know how to set up what I want…
What doesn’t jive?
Well, presuming the Android app continues to be developed, that part could be fixed. I have a lot of feeds that aren’t updated except maybe once a week, presumably because I am only one subscribed.
But the larger part is that I just don’t find the specific take on community interesting. I want my site here to be the central hub of my sharing, and I shared something on accident from the app and it showed up on my “blurblog”, and I don’t think that is friendly to non-NewsBlur users, and the RSS feed generated there isn’t useful for me to parse, either.
I am thinking of running a TTRRSS server, which means I get offline caching on my tablet, and a feed that I can share that points folks directly to the source, so I can aggregate it here and point folks to the correct home.
Thanks for asking! I will make sure to ping ya as I figure stuff out.
Yes, definitely do! I’m saddened by the “lock-in-ish” aspect of blurblogs as well, but I’m currently really tired in my post-work && post-Rowan hours
More cool news, Fate Core and FAE have been released in ePub (and other formats), which means they have the HTML documents ready for establishing the SRD, and that means they will be officially releasing it under CC-BY! Go Evil Hat!
The Barbarian has been added to the Dungeon World Kickstarter Treasure Trove. Can’t wait to check out the rage moves!
